SWEET CHARLOTTE

Our sweet Charlotte Rose was born on February 3, 2012 with a severe heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, in which she was born with a single, working ventricle in her heart, as well as having Turner's syndrome.  She fought a courageous battle, celebrating many times over after having accomplished the impossible throughout her complicated course.  With each obstacle, we marveled at having witnessed her strength, as it was nothing short of miraculous.  Our sincere hope was for Sweet Charlotte to heal and to live a full life, one without hardship.  Sadly, our beloved Charlotte's journey came to an end on April 11, 2012 when her heart unexpectedly stopped, a mere day before going home to be with her family who desperately wanted her home.  However, we find comfort in knowing that she knows no suffering - only joy - as she rests in the arms of The One who loves her.
She touched the lives of many, and many who didn't even know her.  Our lives are certainly better having had her in it.  We are humbled by her remarkable strength and honored to have walked with her.  Throughout her life, we heard countless times just how small our precious girl was beginning from the time she was born, weighing in at just 5 lbs 5 oz.  With each challenge she overcame, it was always SUCH a celebrated one due to her tiny size, not to mention having a single ventricle.  Although her life was much too short, she will forever live in our hearts.  She is our light...she is our love...and she will always be, our girl.

I have been following your blog through caitlin's blog for a long time. I pray and think of you often. i miscarried at 16 weeks pregnant so i know a tiny tiny piece of the heartache you feel over not getting to raise your baby Charlotte. i am so so happy you know the Lord and know that Charlotte is there with Him - like you said, full of only joy and no suffering. i hope you are doing well! As you know - time will help some, Patrick will help a ton and you'll cherish him more than ever, and you'll always love your precious girl more than words can describe!! hang in there.... glad you are blogging again!
