Men At Work

Patrick’s dad came to stay with us for a few days last week and we enjoyed every minute!  He and Patrick were hard at work transforming the once-before office into the baby room.  From sanding, priming, painting, hanging, nailing and more, they really outdid themselves.  Plus they installed shelves on either side of the closet or as I call it “closet enhancements.”  I can’t thank them enough for their hard work and attention to detail.

Hard at work…and a shot of one set of shelves.  So perfect!

Cheers to a job well done, McMen!  The glider is already coming in handy…

And after all of their hard work, they deserved a little bit of fun, Carolina style.  We spent Saturday at Cowboys Stadium watching none other than UNC play basketball.  It was a super exciting day for them – and me. :)  Go Heels!

We had such a great few days with Chris and wish he were still here.  Thanks for the memories.  We loved every minute.

It’s A Boy!

Not so new news to you, but as I was walking out of Wal Mart yesterday, a lady took a quick look at me and said, “Now, that’s a boy!”  I’m a boy mom to be…and can’t wait.  Here are weeks 25 and 26.

Frosty’s Party Too!

Check out my new favorite wine glass that I scored from my Girlfriend Christmas Wine Glass Exchange!  So cutie, cutie.  Thanks to the hostess with the mostess, Ryan, for her holiday hospitality.  I wish that I had pictures to post of her darling Christmas decor and the mother of all eatable spreads!  She really outdid herself and I loved eating my way through her dining room.

During the exchange I scored with this Lolita wine/water :) glass…and no one messed with “the preggers girl” so I hung on to this beaute through the whole exchange.  As soon as I get my hands on the pics from Andrea, I will post our group shots. (Of course I brought my camera but totally forgot that I had so I missed out on all photo opportunities.)  I had the greatest time with some of the greatest girls around.  Thanks for the memories ladies.

Saying Goodbye

A little delayed...

Goodbyes are hard. Today I said goodbye to a dear friend of mine as she moved back home to CT with her husband. As happy as I am for them, it is truly bittersweet. For the last almost 5 years, she's been constant in my life and I am sad to see her go. I will always remember the day we became friends. As we joked about ditching our day jobs and being stay at home moms to husbands and children we didn't have at the time, I knew that we were all too much alike for her not to become a staple in my life. And little did I know that I would meet my husband thanks to her.

So in honor of the big move up north, friend, here's to Wednesday Wine Nights and wine-soaked commentaries, managing to randomly dress identically, picking out wedding dresses...preweddings, carpooling, puppies, babies, houses, bff's, coupleskate date nights and so much more. You are so missed...
Here's to you, Stephie!

Surprise – We’re DC Bound!

What an incredible weekend in DC which Patrick and I spent with the McKittrick clan!!  Talk about pulling off the ultimate surprise!  Thanks to Marty and his great idea, I joined Patrick last weekend in DC to visit his brothers and Alexis.  In Patrick’s words which he texted to the boys when we landed: “Just landed…and I’m not alone.”  :)

We spent 2 days touring and eating our way through the city – complete with the ultimate tour guides Alexis, Evan and Marty!  We made appearances at all the major hot spots, landmarks, festivals and more.  Not to mention the amazing dinner that Marty and my hubby cooked up for us on Saturday.  So tasty.

It was such a fabulous trip spent with my amazing new family.  It was a perfect “last hoorah” with our sibling clan before McBaby/McNugget/PMac is born!  I loved every second and can’t wait for our “NEXT TRIP!”

Happy Thanksgiving

I love turkey and stuffing and twice baked potatoes and rolls and pumpkin pie and, and, and!  Add it all up and it’s a great day to be thankful for family, friends and full plates of food.  This year I am especially thankful for the blessings that Patrick and I have already been given – getting married and expecting our first little bundle of baby.  Life is good…at 23 weeks.

22 weeks

IMG_4605

Check me out!  Here I am in the same dress that I was able to wear not too long ago, although I may be retiring it soon enough.  Baby PMac is getting B-I-G!

Greatness

WHY did I not think to buy a crib pre baby for Miss Princess?!  Seriously!  What fun it was to test out the crib on my first little baby although something tells me that she was a little less than thrilled for the experience: re the last candid.  The baby’s mattress just arrived and of course it was just too tempting for me not to plop Princie in it.  Although I don’t think her annoyance will be long-lived considering she knows who butters her bread!

Such a sweet puppy wuppy…

Birthday Girl

IMG_4595

Happy Birthday to sweet Amrita!  Last weekend we celebrated in true girly fashion with lunch at Parigi’s and lots of gossip, post a little pampering action at the Crescent.  Unfortunately I missed out on the first leg of the day but was able to join in for lunchie lunch.  And boy did I not miss out on much!  We had such a great afternoon catching up with not one dull moment!  What a great afternoon treat with some of my favorite girls around.

The NonBirthday Birthday Dinner

We had a great “nonbirthday” birthday dinner celebrating Kyle last weekend.  We spent the night in Grapevine at Wilhoite's and Tolbert’s.  At one point after dinner, I happened to look toward the boy end of the table and noticed that they were taking a “moment” busy on their phones.  We had a great time but the night was too short, as always.  When we got home, Patrick and Princess spent some together time and I snapped a photo of my two Peas in a Pod.

On The Road Again

Well we had yet another wonderful and fabulous and fun-filled trip to North Carolina to visit Patrick’s family last weekend.  Thanks to the hospitality, family, food and friends (and shopping!), we had such a great time in the NC.

IMG_4530 IMG_4531

We went to Chapel Hill on Friday to walk around campus and enjoy the homecoming fun with Patrick’s Dad.  In the sea of light blue, my husband blended in with fellow UNC fans.  It was so much fun seeing the campus.  Here we are in front of the ATO house in honor of Patrick.
