8 Golden Months

WHERE DOES THE TIME GO? Just yesterday your Daddy and I were learning the ropes as first-timers with a newbie baby, and now, our precious baby boy is already 8 months old! You are closer to your first birthday than being a newborn...time really does fly as is proof of our almost-crawling, babbling little bundle of activity self.

Every second of our day is filled with shrieks, giggles and more giggles, jibber-jabbering, growling, curious looks and reaches...and even some crying when mealtime is looming or a nap is to be had in the midst of fun. You are such a JOY to be around. We couldn't be more blessed. Here are a few things that you are up to this month:

You give sloppy kisses!

You hold steady on all fours (knees and hands!) and seem to be more interested in crawling each day. This comes thanks to Mommy's effort FOR SURE. I am putting you down...FINALLY. Hey...in my defense, you are too cute and it's so hard to do so!

Most nights, bedtime is 630, with a snack around 5 and wake up time at 7:00, on the dot! You take a mid-morning nap for about 1.5-2 hrs and then again in the early afternoon around 1 pm for another 2 hours. Bedtime is at 630pm.

We still Skype with your gparents weekly. Everyone wants a piece of you! :) They all love you so much.

You "burp" Mommy by patting my shoulder when I burp you!

You pray with your feet ALL THE TIME. Cutest thing ever.

You are SO vocal babbling all day long!

You love, love to be tickled on your tummy. LOVE IT.

You are still fascinated by the fountain in the pool. If you are upset, it's the quickest way to calm you down.

You went to your first MOPS playgroup and LOVED IT. This made Mommy so happy and excited for your new friends. This was a BIG day since it was the first time that you were in the care of someone other than gparents or family. When I picked you up, the nursery ladies told me that you were the happiest baby and played the whole time.

You love to eat 'people food' as Daddy calls it. A new trick you've perfected is spitting out any food you don't like. Your favorites are old faithfuls like 'banana smoothies,' peaches, butternut squash and sweet potatoes. I am really surprised you aren't tan-looking by the sheer amount of orange food which you eat!

We are practicing sign language with you. Soon, I hope you understand when Mommy signs "more" and "milk."

As long as you are entertained (by yourself, us or something), on the go in a car, stroller or set of arms or just "doing," you are as happy as a little clam. You are such a bundle of energy and I'm sure will continue to lap Mommy and Daddy well into the future.

You are such a squirmer when you eat! This goes back to you being Mr. Busy Body.

You are an incredible and loving child and we are so blessed to have the honor of being your Mommy and Daddy. We love you mucho mucho.
