One of my most favorite time of the day is when Patrick Sr. comes home from work. Baby P is just SO thrilled to see his Daddy and to spend time with him. Patrick will plop down on the floor and play or scoop up the little guy and read our favorite book, "Pat the Bunny." Most nights, I hear giggles during Daddy Playtime or complete silence as Baby P pats the bunny or smells the flowers in his book. They are two peas in a pod and I'm just happy that they're both mine.

Rooster P
Is this not the sweetest little rooster you've ever seen? Here's P after bathtime the other night and sporting the latest in his ever-growing animal towel collection.

Our Latest Trend
My sweet little guy's favorite new trick is "yelling!" He's constantly telling me all sorts of stories and goings-on in his little life...and my brain aches with so much info! :) He definitely takes after his Mommy in the "I have a lot to say" department. I hope he's always this way because his tiny voice is music to my ears.

Crankster
My Supersized Grin
Mimi's Visit
Mimi came to visit and you loved every minute with her! From playing to reading books to speaking spanish, you two were always busy. And when you weren't having fun, fun, fun, you were sleeping in her arms which may have been your favorite place since you were there a few times! You also 'learned' the taste of dog food and where it's located courtesy of your new walker and thanks to Mimi. Your gummy grin the size of Texas may fully convey just how much you love your Mimi. But she has that effect on everyone, Little Man. Even Mommy and Daddy.
Pennies from Heaven
The moments we treasure the most are those spent with our family. Fortunately, we are blessed in that category and are always with ours! Recently, Aunt Sophia flew by herself to stay with us for a few days and boy, did you LOVE ON HER. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that it was mutual! :) We had a packed few days with craft projects, yummy treats, shopping, nails, bowling, dinners and even a ropes course! But the real fun was just being with Auntie Sophia.
A Helpful Hand
#50
We may change your name to Tyler Hansbrough because you are quite impressive with the basketball. This may come as no surprise to your father because he may have been praying for this since before you were born. :) Mimi gifted you a basketball goal at Christmas and it has been a hit ever since. Not to mention that you love to carry the basketballs everywhere you go. I can never get them out of your hands. They run errands, eat meals and have even napped with you. Poor Bear thinks that they are like her tennis balls and is just tormented lately! Here are a few shots of you in action.
10 Months of Energy
You are a lovable, laughable little darling to be around! Mommy and Daddy love each and every little thing about you. From your outgoing personality to your knack for knowing just when we go to bed to your cuddly nature, you are easy on our hearts, eyes and more! Here are a few things about you at 10 months.
If I ask you what sound a duck makes, you "quack." This is also true for most animals that I ask you about. :)
You are demanding of attention. All the time.
You are obsessed with the girls. Whether it's distributing treats, grabbing tails or playing tug of war with their toys, you are always in tune with the who, what, when, where regarding your d-0-g's.
You love, love, love to giggle...and to eat Mommy's hair.
Speaking of Mommy's hair, you are overall obsessed with it...especially when you are drinking a bottle. Too, you love to nuzzle your face on my shoulder and in my hair when you are tired or need a little comforting.
You catch on to new tricks and toys very easily.
When Daddy comes home for lunch or after work, your face LIGHTS UP.
When you are super excited, you pump your legs and arms so fast.
You have officially graduated into your 'big boy car seat' and not a moment too soon! Best decision we made to make the move because you have so much more mobility in it and seem to be more relaxed for long road trips. Witness our Christmas trip to OK.
You have started a new trick: dropping toys on the floor while in your high chair and once we've retrieved them for you...you repeat.
One of the most amazing things that you do is actually recognize Aunt Sophia on Skype. It is incredible to watch.
You are a SOCIAL BUTTERFLY. OMG. At every restaurant, in every store, whenever or wherever, you are the social chairman. I wonder where you get it...
You roll your tongue constantly.
While in the car, you'll break into song as I call it. You will just start sing/babbling with the music which is too funny.
When I scratch your back, you GIGGLE like no other.
Your favorite book: Pat the Bunny. (We will need another copy soon. As in very soon.)
Debuted Tooth #3 on Sunday, January 23! It's your upper left front tooth (central incisor.)
You have a 'new' smile now: the nose crinkle smile. It is seriously awesome. You reveal so much of a gummy grin and your teeny nose just crinkles up...ooh, so cute!
You have rosy cheeks, especially when you've been playing or sleeping hard.
Almost every time I change you, there are fireworks. You still absolutely hate to be on your back on the changing table. I am eagerly awaiting this phase to pass...and soon!
Everyone always thinks that you are older than you are thanks to your height...and "Donald Trump" hair. :)
You ate out at a restaurant half-dressed - in a polo and wrapped in a blanket. Let's just say that the ONLY salvageable item left on your body was the polo and your Mommy was ill-prepared so you ate dinner wrapped up in Mimi's wrap. At least it was Burberry! :)
You TRY to say "dog" and instead say "du-du" when you see the dogs. "Dada" and "Mama" roll off your tongue regularly. The rest of your vocabulary is unique to you as of now but sometimes I swear I understand what you are "saying."
You still take 2 naps a day: 9 and 1. Bedtime is 630 and you wake up at 659 am. :)
You ate dog food! Princess dropped off some food where you were playing and apparently it looked good. Fortunately Mimi caught on and wrestled it out of your mouth, half dissolved. ew. You love to put your hands in the water bowl too. Awesome.
Unfortunately, you were the recipient of your first cold/'stomach bug" grossness. We are glad that you are well now!!!
We are reminded of how blessed we are each day thanks to having you in our lives. You represent - and are - our hopes, dreams and love. Simply put, you are the light of our lives. We will love you forever and ever, my darling. Happy 10 month.
Love,
Mommy and Daddy

1.1.11
Baby Patrick and Miss Finley celebrated the new year with a little lunch and playtime...all the while missing their best friend Kolt. Who knew that these two would be so cute together?! Well, who are we kidding...we did! :) Although they were so focused on toys and playing, that they barely had time to socialize with each other. Our unsuccessful attempt at a photo proved this point exactly. Toys are more fun than taking pics. Note to selves, Moms. And I think after watching Finley crawl around the room, P was getting the itch witness his sliding action on the floor!

Ringing in the New Year
We celebrated the new year with old friends and good times. Thankfully the girls wore pretty hats and we took lots of pictures to capture the fun. As everyone was leaving, my Big exclaimed, "this is the best new year's ever!" And as I crawled into bed that night and checked the monitor to see my sleeping baby, I had to think the same. Happy New Year, Sweet Family.
