"Better late than never..." I feel like it's my new motto lately! Slowly and surely I am getting caught up on blogs, housework, errands and thank you's. This Mama has been preoccupied by a sweet-smelling, little buddha belly, angel face baby and his daddy!
Speaking of husbands, Mr. Patrick celebrated his 29th birthday as a Daddy! We had a special celebration with Uncle Marty who was in town from DC. And you know who - Mommy - BAKED A CAKE for the big occasion. Talk about a feat with a newborn at home! I made Patrick's mom's banana cake recipe (which inspired the grooms cake at our wedding) and even made the icing from scratch. Seriously, a feat.
Baby Patrick was SO good until I forgot to add the secret ingredient and then all hell broke loose. Let's just say that between a crying baby, an almost-botched-baked-from-scratch-birthday-cake and a frazzled mommy, it was no wonder the bouncer seat ended up covered with cake batter! All in all, it turned out to be a wonderful party for 3 plus a very special 1.
